안녕하세요.

한동안 봄이 가까이 왔나 할 정도로 날씨가 풀렸었는데 다시 원래대로 추워졌네요. 현저한 기온 차이에 감기 조심하시고 운전 조심하세요.

For a little while, it felt like spring was coming close but the normal cold weather has returned. Please stay warm and drive safely.

 우선 지난 2월 1일에 있었던 한글학교 기금마련을 위한 설날잔치에 대한 소식입니다.

First, I would like to report on the New Year Celebration Fundraiser, which took place on February 1, 2014.

 설날잔치에는200명이 넘는 학생들과 학부형님들, 자원봉사자들, 내외귀빈과 손님들이 참석하여 다양한 프로그램도 즐기고 맛있는 점심식사도 하며 즐거운 시간을 가졌었습니다. 서소선님이 아주 흥겨운 해금연주를 해 주셨고 무용단에서 오고무춤팀이 멋진 오고무를 선보였으며 한인성당에서 관악기연주팀이 겨울분위기가 물씬 나는 고요한 음악을 그리고 한글학교 록밴드가 신나는 한국의 록 음악을 공연해 주었습니다. 조태권도 아카데미에서 태권도 시범팀이 나와 멋진 시범을 보여주었습니다. 한글학교에서도 동요반과 유치반 초등반 학생들이 한복을 곱게 차려입고 노래와 귀여운 율동을 케이팝반과 태권도반이 그동안 갈고닦은 기량을 선보였습니다. 찬조출연팀과 한글학교 출연팀 모두에게 심심한 감사의 말씀 전합니다. 또한 한인회에서 한글학교 기금마련을 위한 음식 바자회를 준비해 주셔서 많은 도움이 되었습니다. 점심 식사 외주는 김치카페에서 수고해주셨습니다. 감사합니다. 이번 설날잔치에 여러모양으로 기부금, 물품들, 그리고 시간과 노력을 기부해 주신 분들께 다시 한번 진심으로 감사드립니다. 다음은 기부자 명단입니다.

Over 200 people, including students, parents, volunteers, dignitaries of the Korean and local communities, and guests enjoyed the various programs and a delicious Korean luncheon. We have had the following guest performers: Ms. Sosun Suh played Haegum, a Korean string instrument; the Ogomu team from the Korean Dance Association performed a wonderful five drum dance; the brass band from the Korean Catholic Parish played a quiet but beautiful piece of music; the Korean School Rock Band played several Korean rock songs; and a team from Cho Taekwondo Academy performed a powerful Taekwondo demonstration. The Korean School also presented the Children’s songs class and young students, who sang and danced to children’s songs in beautiful Hanbok, as well as the K-Pop dance class and Taekwondo class, with students from both performing. The Korean Society of Manitoba prepared a food sale for fundraising for the Korean School. The Kimchi Café restaurant catered for lunch. I would like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to all performers and the following people, who have donated money, in-kind contributions, and time and effort for the New Year Celebration Fundraiser. 다음은 3월과 4월에 있을 한글학교 행사입니다. Next are the events for March and April.

3월 22일10-1시: 한국 전통문화 체험수업 Korean culture experience day March 22, 10am-1pm

3월 22일에 한국 문화 체험수업이 한글반과 특활반 학생들을 대상으로 정규 한글 특활수업대신 있습니다. 시간은 간식시간까지 포함하여 10시부터 1시까지오니 12시 50분에 자녀분들을 데리러 오시면 되겠습니다. 간식은 학교에서 준비합니다. 정규 수업으로 간주되오니 학생들이 결석하지 않도록 해 주시고 수업이 정각 10시에 시작될 수 있도록 협조 부탁드립니다.

The Korean culture experience day will replace the regular Korean and activity classes on March 22. Korean and activity class students are eligible to participate. The classes are taking place from 10 am to 1 pm including a snack time. The Korean School will provide snacks. Please pick up students by 12:50 pm. It is considered a regular class; please have the students attend the classes. Classes will begin at 10 am sharp.

 전통문화수업은 한국 전통문화 배우기의 일환으로 새로이 시도하는 프로그램인데 절하기, 서예, 연만들기, 제기만들고 차기, 팽이치기, 윷놀이등이 마련되어 있습니다. 준비물은 학교에서 제공하고 문화회에서 강사분들이 오셔서 수업을 해 주십니다. 한 분야 수업에 20분이 배정되어 그 수업이 끝나면 다음 반으로 가서 다음 수업을 듣는 형식입니다. 이런 식으로 학생들이 모든 수업을 한번씩 거쳐갈 수 있게 됩니다. 원래 교실 말고 아래에 명시된 곳으로 아이들을 데리고 가 주세요. 20분 후에는 다음반으로 이동하게 됩니다.

**서예종이와 연은 복도에 있는 반별 테이블에 보관하오니 귀가시에 해당반 테이블에서 찾아가세요.

**외투는 88호에서 보관하오니 그곳에서 찾아 가세요. 학생들은 가방만 가지고 다닙니다.

The Korean culture experience day is introduced as a part of learning programs of Korean traditions and culture for the first time and includes ritual prostration, calligraphy, manufacturing Korean style kites, manufacturing and playing Korean style hacky sack, spinning top game, and 윷놀이 board game. The School provides craft materials. Guest instructors from the Korean Heritage Culture Association will teach classes. Each class takes 20 minutes and then students go to the next classroom. In this way students get to experience components of all classes. Please go to the assigned classroom as indicated below by 10 am. Students will rotate after 20 minutes.

** Please leave students’ coats in #88 and pick it up there after class.

** Please pick up students’ works of calligraphy and kites at the class table on the hallway after all classes are over.
