안녕하세요.

지난 10월에 벌써 첫눈이 내렸네요. 작년에 이어 올해도 겨울이 일찍 찾아올 것 같아 걱정스럽습니다. 우리 아이들 특히 감기 조심해 주시고 학부모님들도 건강에 유의하시기를 바랍니다.

이번 소식지에서는 11월과 12월의 행사 내용에 대해 말씀을 드리겠습니다. 우선 11월과 12월은 겨울 방학이 시작될 때까지 11월 9일을 제외하고 휴교되는 일이 없습니다.

We have already had the first snow in October. Just like last year, we may have an early winter this year. Please keep your children and yourself warm and healthy.

This newsletter contains events scheduled for November and December. First of all, there will not be any cancellations of regular classes until the end of this term except for November 9.

 - 11월 23일, 30일: 학부모 면담 November 23 & 30: Parent/Adult student - Teacher meetings

-        이주에 걸쳐 한글수업과 특활수업이 끝난 후 학부모/성인반 학생 상담이 각 한글반 담당교실에서 있습니다.

-        자세한 일정은 다음의 표를 확인해 주세요.

-        The Parent/Adult student - Teacher meetings will be held on November 23 and 30, after class in the regular Korean classrooms.

12월 7일: 학급별 말하기 대회 December 7: In-class speech contest

-        12월 7일 정규 수업시간에 학급별 말하기 대회를 해서 각 반에서 세명을 선정합니다. 이 세명이 12월 14일에 학부모님들을 모시고 말하기대회 본선에 참가하게 됩니다.

-        On December 7^th each class will have an in-class speech contest to decide on three (3) candidates. These three candidates will participate in the Korean School speech contest scheduled on December 14.

 12월14일 10시: 말하기 대회와 겨울 방학식 December 14, at 10 am: Speech Contest and the Term End Ceremony

-        말하기 대회가 12월 14일 오전 10시에 소강당에서 있습니다. 각 한인 단체장님들께서 심사를 맡아주실 예정입니다. 공정한 심사를 거쳐 시상식을 통해 한글 학교 전체 최우수상 총 두명 (어린이반, 어른반에 각각 한명), 각 반 1등, 2등, 3등, 그리고 학급별 말하기 대회에 참가한 모든 학생들에게 참가상이 주어집니다.

-        The Speech Contestwill be held on December 14 at 10 am at the Junior Gym. Representatives of the Korean Community will be invited as judges and after a fair evaluation the best student from children’s classes and adults’ classes will be awarded, followed by the students in the first, second, and third place from each class, and all participants. 

-        평가기준은 한국거주기간, 유창성 (원고의 내용을 흐름에 맞게 전달하는가; 정확한 발음으로 내용을 전달하는가), 표현력 (큰 목소리로 뒷자리까지 들리도록 발표하는가; 적절한 표정과 동작으로 발표하는가; 적절한 속도로 발표하는가), 태도및 준비성 (원고의 내용을 100% 암기하여 전달하는가; 시간규정을 잘 지키는가) 입니다. 말하기 대회는 원고를 보고 그대로 읽는 것이 아니라 원고를 암기하여 자유롭게 발표를 하는 것입니다. 댁에서 부모님들의 적극적인 도움과 협조가 필요하오니 잘 부탁드립니다.

-        원고는 레터 사이즈로 유치반과 초등1반, 중고등1반, 성인초급반은 한장까지 초등2반과 초등3반, 중고등2반, 성인중급반은 한장 반까지 준비해 주세요. 레터 사이지의 마진은 위, 아래, 왼쪽, 오른쪽이 각각 2,5cm 이고 double-space 로 해 주세요. 폰트는 바탕을 사용해 주시고 사이즈는12로 해 주시기를 바랍니다.

-        발표시간은 전자의 경우 1분을 그리고 후자의 경우 2분을 넘지 않아야 합니다.

-        The evaluationwill be based on the time period of their stay in Korea, eloquence (How fluently is the delivery of the text; how well is the pronunciation); expressions (Quality of facial expression and motion; how well is it delivered in an appropriate pace); manner of presentation (How freely is it delivered without looking at the notes; how well is it delivered in the given time) Students are expected to present their essay freely without looking at their notes. I would like to kindly ask you to help your children with the preparation of the essay at home.

-        The essay should be up to one page long for students from the Preschool, Kindergarten, Class 1, Class 4, and Adult beginner class and up to 1.5 pages for students from Class 2, 3, 5, and Adult Intermediate class. The essay should be double spaced, its margin 2,5cm on top, bottom, right and left. The font size should be 12 and it is recommended to use 바탕(Batang) font.

-        The presentation should be up to 1 minute for the first groups of classes and up to 2 minutes for the second groups of classes. 

-        방학식이 말하기 대회가 끝난 후 바로 이어집니다.

-        The Term End Ceremonywill be held immediately after the award. 

-        약간의스낵과음료가 제공됩니다.

-        Some refreshmentswill be provided. 

겨울 방학 3주 동안 즐거운 시간 보내시고 1월 11일에 학교에서 다시 만나요.
