안녕하십니까. 2학기도 벌써 중반에 접어들고 있습니다.이번소식지에서는지난2월1일에 있었던 설날잔치 기금마련 소식 및 3월, 4월에 있을 행사에 대해 안내말씀 드리겠습니다.

3월 28일과 4월4일은 봄방학인 관계로, 그리고 4월 11일은 부활절인 관계로 휴교입니다. 

Hello! We are already in the middle of the second term. This newsletter summarizes the funds raised in the Lunar New Year event and announces the events scheduled for March and April. 

There is no school on March 28, April 4due to the spring break, and on April 11 due to the Easter holiday.

2. 백일장 Creative Writing Competition

백일장 글짓기대회를 진행합니다. 원래는 백일장 당일에 학생들이 글짓기를 하여 제출을 하는 것이 원칙이나 한글학교의 사정상 학생들이 미리 준비하는 시간을 가지고 3월21일까지 제출하도록했습니다.원고지 작성법은 수업 중에 담당교사들이 지도해 주십니다.학생들이 학부모님들의 도움없이 자율적으로 자유롭게 글을 쓸 수 있도록 해 주시면 좋을 것 같습니다.백일장 공모내용은 다음과같습니다.

        공모대상: 한국어초급반, 중고급반, 성인 초중급반 학생 및 전체 보조교사

        공모내용:  시, 수필, 소설

        주제:  자유주제

        분량 (200자원고지기준):  시: 1-3 페이지 내외수필: 1-5 페이지내외소설: 10 페이지 내외 

        시상내역: 전교 최우수상한명, 으뜸상, 버금상, 장려상, 특별상, 참가상

        심사내용: 주제의독창성, 창의적인사고, 창의적인표현, 주제에대한이해, 바른글씨체, 한국교육유무

        마감일: 3월21일수업시간

The School is holding a Creative Writing Competition this year. Students can prepare texts and submit them in a special paper by March 21. Each homeroom teacher will distribute the paper and teach the students how to use it. I would also like to advise you not to interfere in the students’ work, but to let them write freely on their own. The adult students are advised to write their own essays as well. Below are the details for the writing competition.

Participants: Introductory, Intermediate andAdvanced Classes, Adult Introductory and Intermediate Classes&all volunteers

Genre: Poem, essay, novel

Topic: Free topic

Quantity: Poem: Approx. 1-3 pp.; essay: approx. 1-5 pp.; novel: approx. 10 pp. (200-syllable paper)

Prizes: Grand Prize, First Prize, Second Prize, Third Prize, Special Prize, Participation Prize

Evaluation criteria:Originality, creative thinking& expression, understanding of topic,penmanship

Deadline: March 21 in class

3.말하기 대회 & 한국 역사 문화 퀴즈 Speech Contest & Quiz on Korean History and Culture

말하기 대회가 심사위원님들과 학부형들을 모시고수준별로 기초.초급반,중고급반, 성인반 순으로진행됩니다. 대기 중이거나 참여가 끝난 후 각 반의 원래  교실에서 각 반의 수준에 맞는 한국 역사 문화 퀴즈를 반 별로 진행하게 됩니다. 소정의 상품도 준비되어 있으니 우리 학생들이 그 동안 갈고 닦은 한글과 문화 역사에 대한 실력을 보여줄 수 있도록 부모님들의 각별한 협조 부탁드립니다. 그리고 성인반 학생들도 이 기회를 통해 자신의 실력을 스스로 평가해보는 기회를 갖도록 많은 참여 바랍니다.

      일시 및 장소: 4월 25일 오전 10:00-12:00,  #91호 교실: 말하기대회/ 각 교실: 문화퀴즈 실시

      참가대상: 전교생, 외부예선 통과자

      대회방식: 4월 18일오전10:00-11:00 반별 예선대회(전교생 참가)

                  4월 25일 본선대회(예선 통과 학생 참가)오전 10:00

      주제: 자유주제 (백일장 원고를 구문으로 바꿔서 사용 가능) 

      분량 및 시간: 최대 레터 사이즈로 한장 

      시간:1분-3분

      시상내역:

            최우수상: 어린이반, 성인반 중 최고득점자 한명씩 수여

            반별 수상: 참여자 수에 따라 최고득점자 순으로 수여

                 으뜸상:참가자 1-3명 중 한명 

                 으뜸상, 버금상:4-6명중 두명

            특별상:상 받을 수준은 안 되지만 특별한 부분이 우수한 경우 수여

            본선 참가상: 본선에 참가한 학생 중 상을 못 받은 학생  

            예선 참가상: 예선에 참가한 학생 중 본선에 못 나간 학생. 상장 없이 상품만 수여

            전년도 어린이반, 성인반 최우수상자: 올해 대회에 참여 불가하나 발표할 수 있는 기회와 상품 수여

            심사내용: 한국거주기간, 유창성, 표현력, 준비성, 발표시간 (평가기준 일률적으로 적용)

The Speech Contest will be held in the presence of judges and parentsin classroom #91 in order of the Basic/Introductory classes,Intermediate/Advanced and Adult. Before or after their turn, each class will have a quiz contest on Korean history and culture in the original classroom. There will be small prizes; so I would like to ask you to help your children to show their skills in the Korean language, history and culture at the contests. Adult students will also have an opportunity to test their skills through these events.

          When and where: April 25, 10am-12pm, classroom #91 (Speech contest)/ eachclassrooms (Quiz)

          Participants: All students

          Schedule: April 18, 10am-11am: In-Class contest

          April 25: School contest (Only thosewho passedin-class contest) 10am

          Topic: Free topic

          Length of the script: Max. 11/2 letter size

          Speech time:1-3mins.

          Awards:

              Grand Prize: One winner each for Children’s and Adults’ classes

              Class winners: Awards to those with highest points based on the number of participants

                   One winner out of 1-3 participants

                   Two winners out of 4-6 participants

              Special Prize: Those, who are not qualified for the above prizes, but who excel in a particular criteria

              School Contest Participation Prize: Participants in the School contest, who did not receive any award

              In-Class Contest Participation Prize: Participants in the in-class contest, who did not advance to the School contest.

                                                             Small prize without certificate

             Last year’s winner in children and adultsclasses: Not eligible for the contest, but they are given an opportunity to

                                                                             present their speech. A small prize will be awarded.

             Evaluation criteria: The time period of their stay in Korea, eloquence, expressions, manner of presentation, and 

                                      speech time
